  2. Poor Avatars; they keep getting punched in the face by random people.

    • If Slaanesh can’t kill ’em properly then I doubt the others would have better luck. I can see some of these guys reforming in their respective craftworlds after a while with a MASSIVE hangover.

  8. “The Eye gazed back.” Oh please. If I find anything lifted from Nietzche in my copy, I’m coming round to your house and beating you to death with my copy of “Thus Spake Zarathustra.”

  9. I don’t think they’ve made enough copies of Aurelian. I predict it will be sold out in a day, if not hours. Must wake up early to get it 😦

  10. I bet you’re on the black library website (6pm) hitting the refresh button for the fun of it and laughing, I know I would be.

  11. Yup. I went to the BL website 15 minutes before 6pm BST, and still couldn’t get through check out before I got the “Server is too busy” message. Oh Aaron, we so want to give you money, but can’t…

  12. An hour and twenty minutes later and the server is still too busy. Way to deal with a high volume of traffic blacklibrary.com

  13. You guys do realise that Aaron has about as much to do with the server issues, as I have with writing Aaron’s novels, right?

  14. Not blaming Aaron, just venting frustration.

  15. ADB,

So, while reading the posts of the legions of the disappointed on Facebook, I noticed that your mother as well was left hanging by the server glitches.

I will only say this: For shame.

I would think that simple rules like “save a copy for our best-selling author’s mom” would be standard in a civilized society. You know, like, “Don’t target the enemy’s officers, you rabble!” or “the Codex Astartes demands that you use this bright white helmet to identify your rank, even in the midst of tactical situations.”

All kidding aside, though, I think that your mom’s plight pretty much perfectly encapsulated the general shittiness of the situation.

Well, there was that, and the theory that you were sitting on a throne made of copies of “Aurelian”, tossing them in your fireplace as needed, to keep the house warm. 😀

    Cheers!

  16. They have taken them off their website, but as soon as they bring them on again, the whole mess will start over. Either they fork up and get a more powerfull server which can handle this demand, or they simply start selling the book again WITHOUT announcing it like the second coming. I know its unfair on people who arent stationed in front of a computer all day, but its the only short term solution to the issue. People will find it available when they do a cursory check of the website.

  17. I suspect as many people will be happy about the silver edition as those who will be sad about the limited edition increase.

As an author it must be satisfying to know that more people will see your work earlier (after all, they will all sell out) and it must come as a comfort that you will not need to sign the silver editions (RSI would have become your friend).

  18. Thank you for signing 3000 copies for your fanbase. Must have hurt like hell… Wish i had enough money for one of those limited sob’s. And thank you for sharing “stuff” with us both here and on facebook. Hope one day when my son is out of dipers we can share my enthusiasm for your writing. All the best wishes!

  19. Waited for 6 hours to unsuccessfully purchase Aurelian. when it goes back up I’ll wait again.
I’m no preening fanboy, but the collector bug is STRONG. the BL knows this 😀
