    • You have some reading to do next week, dearest. About, y’know, the other 5-man squad. The ones in grey, who are a bit knighty.

  4. You know, Variel has a very similar caption to Dr Kyle Pondsworth.

    Coincidence? I think not…

  5. These are wicked. Cyrion’s pose is class, and I love Uzas. Always have. In that manly way. Not THAT manly way.

  7. Awesome. But is Talos really the only one with an imperial eagle on his armour?

btw. “When life gibes you lemons” ?
Is this just coincidence or did someone play Portal 2? 🙂

  8. Very nice art, congrats – his works go well with your prose. Too bad there isn’t a sketch of Talos too.
I agree, Uzas is pretty cool, but then I always liked the damned.
Blood for the Blood God! Lemons or not.

  10. saw these on B&C and i’m loving them!

you definitely need the artist to draw or paint a Malcharion!

kudos on Blood Reaver, i thought it couldn’t get any better after Soul Hunter, but boy was i mistaken.

and Uzas is fastly becoming my new favourite of first claw.

  11. Cyrion needs a spin-off sitcom after this series finishes.

    Cyrion slides in through door.

    *Canned laughter*

    Cyrion: “So. How are you?”

    *Canned laughter*

    Phoebe: “Oh Cyrion!”

    *Canned laughter*

    Seriously, it’ll be brilliant.

  12. I love First Claw. What a crew of bad-asses!

I’ve been trying to figure out who I imagine playing or voicing them in a film, and I think I’ve got a few of ’em figured out:

Talos: Doug Bradley (of Hellraiser fame).
    Cyrion: Christopher Lee.
    Uzas: Jason Statham.
    Mercutian: Sean Pertwee.
    The Exalted: Alan Rickman.

    • See, I think I’m in the minority with this, but despite Soul Hunter actually stating that Cyrion has a deep voice, my head keeps translating his lines in a lighter-toned, almost mockingly playful voice, even after listening to Throne of Lies. Xarl, yeah, ultra-bass voice; Cyrion, my head doesn’t buy it. Maybe my treble dial is broken on Channel Cyrion.

      • I think Cyrion has a light tone, too–which is why Christopher Lee is perfect for the voicing: Lee can sound both apocalyptic and humorous at the same time. Ian McKellen does a great job of that, too! I might swap Lee for McKellen and save Lee for voicing Variel or The Exalted.

  17. These look awesome. I always imagined Variel with more flayed skin on him – I don’t know if it was the description or just my way of picturing him. But I am pretty sure Cyrion is missing the lightning bolts on his helmet and armor.
